Principal's Message

October 5, 2020

Dear Woodcrest Families,

I hope you are having a great school year, despite all the challenges of distant learning. As you know, we are projecting our return to in-person instruction on Tuesday, October 13, 2020. You should have received a letter is to share your cohort information, as well as other pertinent information related to in-person instruction. If you need us to resend or would like a hard copy, please call the office.

I also attached a copy of the Fullerton School District Cohort calendar. The days highlighted are the days your child will be with their homeroom teacher. For students participating in the 5 day on campus learning option, they will spend their non-cohort day in (mark Space or MPR). On these days, they will attend their homeroom teacher’s lesson via Zoom, while being supervised by a member of the Woodcrest staff.

School starts at 8:15. We will begin breakfast at 7:50. I have attached our bell schedule, with start and dismissal times. On the first day back on campus, students should bring back all textbooks they received while participating in distance learning. After day one, students should not bring backpacks to school, only their iPad. We will provide ear buds and all necessary materials needed for learning. Please make sure their iPad is completely charged daily.

In order to keep students socially distant, we are asking for families to stagger their arrivals, as well as enter campus through assigned entrances. Please see attached map with details on which entrance your student should enter from. Upon arrival, students must have their mask on and have their temperature taken. Temperature checks are done without physical contact. If a student has an elevated temperature, they will be given water and a few minutes to cool down and have their temperature rechecked. If the temperature remains elevated, you will be called to pick up your child. Please make sure to not send your student to school if they are sick. For more information on FSD’s safety protocols, please refer to the Fullerton School District website at https://www.fullertonsd.org/apps/pages/Covid19SafetyProtocols.

Thank you for trusting the Woodcrest staff with your child. Please know we are taking every safety precaution to keep both your child and our staff safe. We will be reviewing all of our safety expectations with all students the first week of school to ensure they all have a good understanding of how to be safe at school. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Kindest Regards,

Rochelle Wolf, M.Ed.
